WHO NEEDS VOICE LESSONS Part 2

Updated: Aug 12, 2019

So, you have read about the first type of singer I regularly meet.

Now let's talk about the second. Are you a producer or singer songwriter who creates your own demos? Are you an up-and-coming singer/recording artist pursuing a professional career? Are you a working musician, a minister of music or choir director who is responsible for frequent performing and teaching? Are you a seasoned professional with years of singing/recording under your belt?

If you are described above, you are an excellent candidate for private vocal study. Does that apply to the more experienced singers described here? Yes, especially you. But we'll address that a little later. For now, let's deal with the beginning examples.

Technically speaking, if you fall into the first two categories, great singing will go hand in hand with future opportunities. In other words, vocal excellence is key to your livelihood. The good news? The focus and discipline required to benefit from serious voice lessons is something you already display.

Consider this; developing a vocal regimen at this stage in your career can teach you to combat the vocal challenges of tours, frequent performing and the long hours associated with studio and live recording work. Is it possible to perform well when you are sick, fighting allergies, tired or dehydrated? When you know your voice inside and out (the way good voice training will teach you to), you'll find ways to work around each of these challenges while delivering excellence. You'll also know when it is best to cancel a performance to speed healing and recovery.

Are there other reasons that vocal training is important? Yes! One unexpected reason is your talent itself. I am speaking to solo quality singers of every genre. What makes you a solo singer and not a background singer? It's simple. All solo singers possess at least one vocal characteristic that makes their voice unusually beautiful. Want more?
